Adding personal touches to your Central Florida wedding can actually save you money and we’re going to show you how.
Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable days of your life, and we know you want every detail to be perfect. With the rising costs, wedding planning can get overwhelming when you’re trying to stick to a realistic budget and avoid spending a fortune.
Goldenbear Event Rentals is here to tell you that the more you customize your special day to reflect your personalities, honor your love story, and celebrate your favorite things in life, the more money you’ll save.
1. DIY (Do it Yourself)
Instead of hiring expensive and frivolous vendors, consider taking on some of the tasks yourself. You can make your own invitations, centerpieces, and even your wedding cake or dessert bar. It's an excellent way to add a personal touch to your big day and save some money.
We’ve designed our wooden rental pieces to be so beautiful on their own that minimal decor is needed to create a picture perfect setting for your special event.
2. Choose a Unique Venue
Think outside of the box when it comes to choosing a venue. Instead of a traditional wedding hall, opt for a unique and picturesque location. Central Florida has so many unique wedding venues available including local beaches, public parks, or even your family's beautiful backyard! What could be more special than to get married in the park where you both spent so much time together, the beach you got engaged on, or at a family home with all of those lifelong memories?!
Our customers have told us that some vendors give them a hard time or even refuse to deliver to public parks or private residences. Here at Goldenbear Event Rentals, we practically specialize in delivering to unconventional event locations! We are fully licensed and insured and our team will work with you to make it happen.
3. Simplify Your Menu
Food is a significant expense at any wedding, but you can save by simplifying your menu. Instead of going for a fancy plated dinner, opt for a buffet-style menu or even a food truck. It can be just as tasty and affordable.
Our popular dual barrel farm table makes for a charming double sided buffet or dessert bar!
4. Keep the Guest List Small
While it's tempting to invite everyone you know, a smaller guest list is the most obvious way to significantly reduce your costs. You could also opt to use the money saved per guest to give the smaller party of guests a more luxurious experience.
With no minimums, and packages that start at just 30 guests, we cater specifically to intimate Central Florida events of 200 guests or less!
By personalizing your wedding day, you can reduce your costs without sacrificing your vision for your special day. The key is to be creative and think outside the norm. Use these tips to make your wedding day one to remember, without breaking the bank and contact Goldenbear Event Rentals to learn more about our collection of polished wood pieces and our wonderful wedding packages!

You’ve decided to get married outside and luckily Florida does not disappoint with it's romantic landscapes. You may be envisioning yourself saying “I do” in a peaceful orange grove under moss covered oak trees or maybe on the beach with your toes in the sand and palm trees swaying in the ocean breeze. Not every outdoor wedding is the same, however, if you plan to tie the knot outdoors in The Sunshine State, you’re going to need to consider the following 5 things. We asked some local Florida wedding professionals to give their best tips for considering the location, lighting, wind, bugs, and restrooms when planning your outdoor Florida wedding.

LOCATION & SPACING
Outdoor wedding locations can be quite spacious. If the layout of your reception area allows for guests to spread out too far, your guests could miss all of the special moments you’ve planned like the cake cutting and bouquet toss! We encourage couples to try to keep the bar, photobooth, restrooms, food, and dance floor within a visible distance from each other and be sure that the DJ or sound system can easily be heard within ear shot.
LIGHTING & SUN
I think we can all agree that using nature as your back drop creates some of the most magical wedding photos! You can plan a picture-perfect day by using the sun to your advantage. When selecting your ceremony site, be sure that the sun will set behind your officiants back. This gives a natural backlighting effect. Be sure to check the sunset time for your actual wedding date in advance and remember to consider daylight savings!
WIND & WEATHER
In our last blog post we took a deeper look at the weather in Central Florida. One thing we didn’t touch on, however, is wind. Depending on the time of year and how close you are to the coast, wind proofing your outdoor Florida wedding will bring you peace of mind. We actually designed our entire collection of rustic wood rental pieces with high winds in mind. Farm tables create beautiful backdrops for wedding tablescapes without any fancy linens so you won’t have to worry about tablecloths taking flight! You’ll want to be sure that centerpieces are weighted down enough to withstand wind gusts and try to stay away from floral arrangements that are top heavy if you can. If you are considering a tented outdoor wedding and it’s likely to be windy on your wedding day, ordering a tent with side walls may be ideal to shelter your guests and your décor from blowing away.
Outdoor wedding venues like McKinnon Groves include commercial grade bug repellant treatment in all of their wedding packages. If this is not the case for you, citronella torches, candles, or even potted citronella plants around the area could help fend off mosquitos. If you are permitted to treat the area yourself a few days in advance, backyard bug control sprays like Cutter are another option for defending your wedding against bugs. Regardless of your approach, if you are planning an outdoor wedding in Florida you will want to provide several cans of bug spray for your guests to use as needed. Be sure to look for a clear formula and stay away from powder formulas so that your guests don't ruin their wedding attire with white powder streaks!
Whether your dream outdoor wedding is a mini-mony with just family or your guest count is in the hundreds, restrooms are always a necessity. If your outdoor wedding location has access to an indoor restroom inside of a home or another building on the property, be sure that you post clear signage to point your guests in the right direction when they have to "go". The stunning outdoor Florida venue featured in this blog post is called McKinnon Groves and they actually include an eight stall luxury restroom trailer standard with all of their wedding packages!

Congrats, you’re engaged! Welcome to the wonderful journey of wedding planning. Step 1 is to decide what time of year your big day will be. Orlando area couples, you’re in luck because Goldenbear Event Rentals did the research for you! We even created a link down below with a cheat sheet for you of weather stats so you can see the numbers yourself. We based our ranking of the best months to get married in Central Florida on weather history considering average precipitation, temperature, and humidity.
First, have an idea about the time of day and setting of your wedding. Will it be an outdoor or indoor wedding? Will it take place during the day time or the evening? Wedding season in Florida typically runs from October through May considering that June through November is officially hurricane season, bringing lots of wind and rain. (Backyard weddings beware!)
We think April is the best month for a wedding in Florida, especially an outdoor wedding. The humidity is lowest in Central Florida in April. The temperature in April has highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s making April a great month to have an afternoon or evening wedding in the Orlando area.
November comes in as the second-best month to get married in Central Florida, however, it could be risky. Remember: though it may unlikely for a hurricane to occur, hurricane season technically doesn’t end until November 30th which also means that the humidity levels are just starting to decrease from the rainy season. This being said, on average, November does have the least rainfall out of any month raining less days than any other month!
If April or November just aren’t working out for you, consider a winter wedding in February or December. Each of these months are very similar in average rainfall and average temperature. The average rainfall overall is pretty low for Florida and you can expect the temperatures in Central Florida in February and December to be highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Considering the lows for these months, we recommend that you stick to a day time wedding.
March is a popular wedding month in Florida for its lower humidity and beautiful weather with temperature highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. It rains just as often as in February and December but the average monthly rainfall is about an inch more.
There’s a bit of risk taking involved in saying “I do” in October because it is still hurricane season in Central Florida, however, the temperatures are really great and the rainfall is actually lower than March. Humidity starts to decrease from the rainy season in October and you’ll enjoy highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s.
We say no matter what time of year, if you are planning an outdoor or backyard wedding in Florida, you won’t need to worry if there’s a little wind or brief rain shower as long as you choose the most practical rental furniture and décor. For peace of mind, we recommend renting our wood farm tables as guest tables and our live wood benches for ceremony seating. These elegant wedding rental pieces are weatherproof and their beautiful wood finish makes decorating less expensive overall as they are truly picturesque on their own!
